Brief: The client, Tralee Institute of Technology, wished to identify the current level of data acquisition and analysis within the agricultural sector, specifically targeting livestock management, and also to identify future requirements in this area.
Solution: A comprehensive review was undertaken of the Irish AgTech market with a view to capturing all of the pertinent data required by the client. We proposed a mixture of extensive desk research, one to one interviews with key stakeholders, an online survey and a focus group with a hand-picked group of farmers who could be described as “early adopters” of AgTech.
Result: A detailed report outlining the current state of AgTech in Ireland, what technologies farmers were interacting with and crucially, what potential improvements stakeholders identified. The report formed the basis of further successful funding of the project within Tralee Institute of Technology.
