Background of Acorn Agricultural Research data collation service ~ Acorn Agricultural Research first started collecting on-farm data for agricultural scientific research in 2007. At this time, much of the qualitative data for in-depth studies was paper based, resulting in excess erroneous data. We developed a secure web-based programmable survey engine allowing farmers to enter data directly from their personal computer or mobile phone. We combined this data with existing data from multiple sources such as ICBF, AIM and farm software providers. This process ensures more accurate data, tailored to the clients’ specific needs. This methodology has been extremely successful and used repeatedly in numerous trials including breeding trials, animal health trials, grass trials and sustainability & carbon footprint studies.
